One major omission -in your otherwise excellent enumerations- is the closing of the British Office. Handbags and Gladrags covered by Stereophonics.

I forgot Spongebob when I was listing opening theme songs too:

"Absorbent and yellow and porous is he!"


Speaking of Ricky Gervais, besides the Stereophonics, I should have noted Gervais resurrecting Cat Stevens for the closing theme song of "Extras". I loved it a couple weeks ago when he replaced it with a Coldplay version.
