The Ricketts Family, the billionaire owners of the Cubs, have their proverbial hands out pleading for a treasure chest of charity from the taxpayers of Greater Chicago. But the $400 million price tag affixed to the revamping of Wrigley Field and its surrounding environs might be partially bloated due to the plan to construct a time machine. An artist's rendering of the so-called "Cubs Alley" development, which would adjoin the western wall of Wrigley Field, implies that the Cubs won something in 1916, 1942, and 1949.They didn't.

Such a stickler for details. I didn't even notice that when I was looking at the drawing when it came out. My guess is those are significant years (births) of people involved in the creation of the drawing or the new owners of the Cubs (I think Ricketts's dad may have been born in 1942). The 1916 is a reference to when the Cubs moved into Wrigley (after it being built in 1914).
I'm just trying to help the Cubs save some money. Championship flags is one area in which they should be able to skimp.
