News flashes

A majority of Americans-- and Iraqis want an American withdrawal from Iraq, and still the Democrats can't get it together. This is absolutely pathetic.

Before you leave the Washington Post site, save this invaluable page with your other web favorites-- it's a database of every Congressional vote since 1991.

All of you new Qwest employees, take note.

I've dug up the transcript of last night's Howard Stern profile on "60 Minutes." Enjoy.

---
Here's an op-ed piece by one of Howard's biggest defenders. It's from Friday's New Jersey Star-Ledger.

Tomorrow, the 6th, marks the one year anniversary of this blog. Here's a summary of the first 365...

Good-- Alexander Payne, Albert Pujols, comparing things you like to jazz music

Bad-- Corporations, Larry King

Happy Anniversary. Thanks for reading.

Congrats on one year!!

That's a pretty general bad - Corporations - especially considering you just got a new job with one of them.

I found a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, taken in November- even before Rep. John Murtha's declaration, that shows 52 percent of Americans want ALL U.S. troops out of Iraq by November 2006. To the question 'Can the U.S. win in Iraq?' 60 percent vote 'no.'

According to Gallup, 80 percent of Iraqis want us "out now," and 45 percent want our soldiers dead.

Quoteth Murtha, 11/18: "The American people are way ahead of us on this."

The painful silence of the Democratic leadership-- and I'm discounting Nancy Pelosi-- is probably the reason that John Kerry would still run just neck-and-neck with Bush, 48 to 47% (Gallup) if the election were held again. Bush's approval rating is under 40, but he's lost only four percentage points to Kerry in 13 months.
